Initial Phone Consultation

Call 207-941-8444 and leave your name, phone number and good times to reach you. Voicemail messages are the best way to reach me. My goal is to return your call within 24 hours (during normal business hours). During this consultation call, we will talk about the issues you are seeking help with and to answer any questions that have about me and my approach to therapy.

A goal of this first phone meeting is to determine if you are likely to feel comfortable working with me and if it’s a good “fit.” At the end of the call we can set up an appointment for a first session. This intake session will allow us to begin to develop a working relationship.

Interventions

My professional philosophy is client-focused and therapy is a collaborative process in which we work to develop skills and resources to manage symptoms and make life changes that improve life quality for clients.  I believe that good mental health integrates mental, physical, social, and (for some) spiritual well-being.  Just like the fit between the client and the therapist, the fit between the intervention and the client is important.

Interventions include, but not limited to:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy

  • Interpersonal Therapy for Depression

  • Attachment-based interventions, for couples and individuals

  • Mind-Body Interventions (e.g., Mindfulness)

  • Relaxation

  • Stress Management

  • Exposure Therapy for Anxiety

  • Emotionally-focused interventions for couples
